Is the praise that the Catholic Church gives to Mary hold up to scripture? Mary is worshipped as a goddess by the catholic community, however surprising little is said about Mary in the Bible. According to the Catholic Church, they have declared dogmas of Mary elevating her to goddess (don’t believe me, click on the links all from Catholic sources). Let’s examine
Third Dogma: Immaculate ConceptionWhen I first read the title I expected this to be about Jesus miraculous birth but in fact and to no great surprise it is about Mary’s miraculous birth?
In the Constitution Ineffabilis Deus of 8 December, 1854, Pius IX pronounced and defined that the Blessed Virgin Mary "in the first instance of her conception, by a singular privilege and grace granted by God, in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the human race, was preserved exempt from all stain of original sin."
This simply states that Mary is sinless. This false dogma is built upon another false dogma of
original sinThe formal active essence of original sin was not removed from her soul, as it is removed from others by baptism; it was excluded, it never was in her soul. Simultaneously with the exclusion of sin. The state of original sanctity, innocence, and justice, as opposed to original sin, was conferred upon her, by which gift every stain and fault, all depraved emotions, passions, and debilities, essentially pertaining to original sin, were excluded. But she was not made exempt from the temporal penalties of Adam -- from sorrow, bodily infirmities, and death.
The concept of original sin is false in the first place. It states that sin of Adam is passed down hereditary to their descendants so we are all born in sin. This concept shows how little they know about sin. Sin is simply the breaking of God’s law (1 John 3:4) and a child does not know what is right or wrong as a child does not know the law. Paul stated if there is "
no law" there is "
no sin" (Romans 4:15) and Jesus showed our sin is according to our knowledge (John 15:22). When we know the law and we break it we become sinners but a child does not know the law so cannot be labeled a sinner.
The scriptures show Joseph and Mary went to the temple to offer sacrifices for sin. It states in the
"days of her purification according to the law of Moses" came they went to
"offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons" (Luke 2:22-24). This custom is described in Leviticus 5:6-9 as for a sin offering. This is a strange custom to perform for a sinless woman?
The bible clearly states all have sinned (Romans 3:23) except Jesus but even then he became sin for us (2 Corinthians 5:21) that we may be reconciled back to God through Jesus sacrifice (2 Corinthians 5:19, John 14:6)!
Notice when Jesus was called
"good teacher" he responded as
"none is good, save one, that is, God" (Luke 18:18-19). This shows simply that the attributes of Jesus are that of the Father and that the heavenly Father was the source of the goodness. The Catholic Church has labeled Mary "full of grace" when in fact it is Jesus who is
"full of grace" (John 1:14). As for Mary it says
"Hail, you that are highly favoured" (Luke 1:28) not "full of grace" as claimed by the Catholic Church.
There is a clear and obvious deception here that the Catholic Church is trying to label Mary with the characteristics of Jesus. The focus of Jesus should not be on the earthly realm but of the heavenly realm as stated in 1 Corinthians 15:47
"the second man [Jesus]
is the Lord from heaven" so why is there such great focus on Mary? Goddess worship is wide spread throughout the pagan world which goes back to the first Babylon setup by Nimrod and Simiramis and is still alive in the Catholic Church. Do some research and see where the common origins of the pagan goddess Astarte (Cyprus), Diana (Ephesus and throughout Asia Minor), Cybele (Asia Minor), Isis (Egypt), Aphrodite, Ceres (Greece), Venus or Fortuna (Romans), Shingmoo (China), Disa (Scandanavia), Nutria (Etruscans), Virgo-Paritura (Druids), Isi or Indrani or Devaki (India).
So from the false doctrine of original sin, the Catholic Church needed to come up with another dogma to say Mary was not born in sin then carry that notion throughout her life to say she was sinless till her death. This is a great deception as this will lead to the attributes of Jesus been credited from his mother and not from his heavenly Father i.e. Jesus is sinless and full of grace because Mary is sinless and full of grace not because the heavenly Father is sinless and full of grace.
